Wild & Seasonal Food Experience
(Including Foraging & Outdoor Open-Fire Cooking)

with Rob Gould & Kathryn Minchew

September (14th to 17th) 2021 & October (19th to 22nd) 2021

The 3 day Wild & Seasonal Food Experience at Notgrove Holidays is designed to teach you more about Mother Nature’s wild food larder, through foraging, local produce and outdoor cooking. Set on the idyllic 1,500 acre private Notgrove Estate in the beautiful Cotswold countryside, it’s the perfect place to learn about harvesting your own edible wild foods and how to utilise it in your cooking, along with other locally sourced produce, to create tasty healthy meals.

Our three day and three-night experience is suitable for people with all levels of foraging and cooking ability and includes:

❖ Learn how to gather your own wild ingredients

❖ Expert guidance from a renowned forager

❖ Cooking over real outdoor fires

❖ Spend time with a Masterchef semi-finalist

❖ Group banquet on the last night of your stay

❖ Time to enjoy the local scenery, immerse yourself in nature and get away from the stresses of life

all to be enjoyed while staying in idyllic Cotswold countryside in our cosy glamping pods.

Leaders

The experience will be jointly led by Rob Gould, Cotswold Forager, and former Masterchef semi-finalist Kathryn Minchew, the Pyromaniac Chef. Both believe hugely in the idea of eating with the seasons as much as possible, whether foraged or farm-grown, as well as the positive effects of spending time in the great outdoors.

Their aim is for attendees to go home with a reinvigorated outlook on seasonality and the plants that grow around them, plus a deeper understanding that eating local and fresh shouldn’t be seen as restrictive, but rather an opportunity to be even more adventurous in their cooking style and in the way they utilise these ingredients for a more healthy and natural diet.

For more information about Kathryn and Rob, please read their brief biographies below, or check them out further by searching for @pyromaniacchef and @cotswoldforager across social media and Google.

Rob Gould, Cotswold Forager

With over 20 years’ foraging experience under his belt, Rob has a wealth of knowledge and a passion for the outdoors that goes far beyond what is simply edible, also covering things such as preserving your wild harvest, natural history and folklore relating to what you will see when out with him. He is also passionate about the seasonality of food across the entire culinary spectrum.

“Rob has a great attitude and he nurtures learning and understanding. His knowledge of nature and our countryside is amazing, and I learned so much in my time with him. He gave me an insight into an area that I thought I knew well already”

“After originally inviting Rob out to help us look at developing our site to be more nature friendly, we realised that there was an incredible opportunity to work with him on something far more exciting. His enthusiasm is contagious, and his knowledge about the natural world – and his willingness to research deeply into anything unknown he discovers – is astonishing. We cannot wait to work alongside him again in the future”

Kathryn Minchew, The Pyromaniac Chef

Kathryn has always been passionate about creating food experiences outdoors, cooking with the best and freshest seasonal ingredients over open fires. Her imported Scandinavian Kota Hut in the back garden is the base for her fire-born creations.

Offering a 10-course gastronomic adventure to her micro-restaurant guests, she pushes boundaries wherever possible. Ignite the spark by telling her ‘you can’t cook that over fire’, and she will prove that you can!

Taking inspiration from worldwide travel, Masterchef competition to semi-finals and featuring on Michel Roux Jr’s Hidden Restaurants, diners with Kathryn are in for a unique culinary experience created by a passionate, witty adventurist chef!
