The Festival 2018

Harry, Kate and Lucy
The Cotswolds is always beaming with charm and excitement but every March things certainly step up a gear.
Cheltenham Racecourse hosts one of the biggest events in the sporting calendar and the Cotswolds social diary too!
For four days in March, Cheltenham Racecourse hosts 'The Festival'.
Racehorses of very high calibre descend to the beautiful iconic track to run the race of their lifetime. Trainers plan their year around these days and owners often can only dream of attending The festival.
Race-goers of all shapes and sizes flock to the course. From all backgrounds with lots of different interests. The one thing they DO all have in common though is the love for the beautiful equines they are about to see.
It is such an experience to attend the meeting in so many ways. The fashions on display for one is intriguing! Where else would you see yellow cords and red socks?!
If you want to get involved a little bit more why not have a flutter! Watch the horses parade in the paddock and choose your steed. There is nothing more exciting than cheering home your chosen horse ( mine are often not in the winner's enclosure though!)
Then there are the shops. Some fantastic independent stands with wonderful country clothing, jewellery and artwork for you to look at.
A day at the races must start with a good full English breakfast somewhere washed down with prosecco for good measure! We have plenty of neighbouring pubs for you to choose from for this - The Halfway House, The Hollow Bottom and The Plough at Cold Aston.

Whether horse racing is your thing or not this really is a fantastic experience and one for your bucket list!
