Welcome to the Notgrove Estate Blog – This is where we talk about places to visit, news, events and things going on in the Cotswolds as well as on the Farm. Sometimes we talk about one of our favourite subjects…. cake!

Our Family Friendly Music Festival Guide

Wychwood Festival 3-5th June

Held extremely local to us this very modest festival manages to tick all of the boxes without being too ‘in your face’. It is only a twenty minute drive from us at Cheltenham Racecourse. You wont feel the need to dread lock your hair before hand and fill it with flowers to fit in with the crowd…..anything goes. There is good music, family fun and entertainment and plenty of yummy food.

Cornbury Music Festival 8-10th July

Cornbury is set in the rolling countryside of Oxfordshire. The setting is stunning and really gets you in the festival spirit. There is a wonderful eclectic mix of music to be enjoyed and a truly magical childrens area including workshops, entertainers and good old fashioned fair ground rides. If you have had a tough week you can relax in the massage zone or boogie away your blues in the disco shed. It has a family friendly crowd from all walks of life and is like a country fair with a rock and roll twist! The weather can do what it likes as it will not ruin your time here.

Wilderness Festival 4-7th August

The Wilderness is set in a huge nature reserve so that in itself promises a good time. You are free to roam the land and get back to nature. This is what this festival is all about, stripping life back and cutting out the clock watching, busying about and making you pause for the weekend to enjoy the important things in life. Its music covers all kinds of genres so what ever music you are into you will find something here that you will enjoy. This year you can even listen to The Wilderness Orchestra doing their tribute to David Bowie. You can watch theatre performances, story telling shows, even an insect circus (?) and join in on lots of crafty workshops to keep those little hands busy. It oozes culture! You will come away feeling organically cleansed and re-energized.

The Big Feastival 26-28th August

Again we are lucky enough to have this amazingly popular too cool for school festival a short distance from us. It is extremely attractive for all of the family with under 12’s getting in for free. Top artists performing such as Ella Henderson, Mark Ronson and Kaiser Chiefs to name a few. Plenty of fun things for the younger generation like percussion workshops for our budding band mates in the ‘Big Top’ or if you fancied chillaxing you can do joint yoga classes with your tiny tots. Adam Henson is even taking along his farm park for the few days so that you can meet the team and their four-legged work colleagues. Step back in time and enjoy the magical romance of the vintage fun fair and with all of this excitement you have plenty of truly delicious food stands to go and re-fuel at.

With all of these put on a plate for you you had best dig out your Macintosh and wellies!
